2016 Domaine Bachelet-Monnot Puligny-Montrachet

Single Bottle - Standard - 750ml

Tasting Notes:

This is buttery, offering flavors of peach, hazelnut and citronella. Shows fine intensity and structure, with balance and a lingering aftertaste of hazelnut, mineral and spice. Drink now through 2024. 65 cases imported.

Tasting Notes:

The 2016 Puligny Montrachet Village was not affected by frost at all. Strangely, I actually prefer the Chassagne-Montrachet Village on the nose, which was touched by frost. This just feels rather austere and aloof at the moment. The palate is better with crisp acidity, fine tension and an almost clinical, focused finish. Maybe what it just misses is some personality or character, and that may well develop with one or two years in bottle.

description Producer information Professional reviews

Domaine Bachelet-Monnot in Dézize (Cote de Beaune) was recently created by Marc and Alexandre Bachelet, grandchildren of Bernard Bachelet. They own 10ha of vine in all, covering Maranges, with 1er cru wine La Fussière in both colours and the semi-monopoly of Clos de la Boutière, Santenay and Puligny-Montrachet, including 1ers crus Referts and Folatières along with grands crus Bienvenues-Bâtard and Bâtard-Montrachet. The whites wines are exceptionally fine.
