Tasting Notes:
Chalky at first, the 2016 Chardonnay takes its time to reveal citrus blossoms, lime peel, crushed stone, apricots and pure lemon and apple fruit with dusty, minerally nuances. The palate walks a wonderful line of pure, ripe fruits and fresh citrusy and rocky accents. It has a silky texture, tangy lift and a very long, nuanced finish. This has the stuffing and structure to be very long lived.
Tasting Notes:
The oldest chardonnay vines on the Hyde Vineyard, which were planted in 1979. This has a very powerful feel to it. Commanding and dense. The nose has dried peaches, grapefruit, crushed wet rocks and minerals with cool pears and an chamomile flower edge as well as flinty notes. The palate has a direct, linear style. Very concentrated, dense and deep-set with a potent combination of extreme power and tension. This has grip, punch and depth. Mouthwatering and long. Just 100 dozen bottled. Drink or hold.
