Single Bottle - Standard - 750ml
Tasting Notes:
The 2015 Gran Syrah is a blend of grapes from the three main vine-growing valleys of San Juan: Tulum, Zonda and Pedernal. In this wet El Niño vintage, the destemmed grapes fermented in roto-fermentors with indigenous yeasts, and the wine aged in brand new French oak barrels for 15 months. It has a savory and showy nose, with spicy and almost salty notes, hints of smoked bacon and a core of ripe fruit, showing the wild character of the place. The palate is full-bodied, with fine-grained tannins and pungent flavors. A big Syrah with freshness for the barbecue. 100,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in November 2017.
Tasting Notes:
Rich and complex, but no hint of overripeness. Lots of black peppers, blackberroes and some vanilla oak. The concentration is really impressive, and the generous tannins are very well-integrated. With a touch less oak this would have been rated higher. Drink or hold.
