Tasting Notes:
A Pauillac-like expression of fresh-cut flowers, gravelly tannins and rich, graphite-laced currant and dark berry flavors. The tannins flex their sinewy strength, leading to a gutsy melted black licorice accent on the finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2030. 3,000 cases made.
Tasting Notes:
The success of Continuum, a wine from Pritchard Hill made by Tim Mondavi and his sister Marcia, continues unabated. This is a beautiful vintage for Continuum, with a dense bluish/purple color and a beautiful nose of blueberries, violets, a touch of licorice, truffle and background oak. This full-bodied wine displays beautifully sweet and well-integrated tannin as well as loads of forest floor and spice box. A complex, Bordeaux-styled wine, it is approachable and dramatic, even ostentatious, as many 2012s tend to be, so there’s no harm in drinking it now or cellaring it for another 20+ years.
