Maison Paul Jaboulet Aîné: Silver at Syrah du Monde®
Wednesday September 7, 2016
There are more approximately 10,000 varietal grapes in the world and we are blessed to enjoy the fruits of research in producing wines. Imagine, an endless aisle of wines for you to choose from – Cabernet, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and the list goes on. One can talk about wines for a day and still have something to look forward to the next day. The extent of wines is amazing. But for now, let us talk about one of the widely planted red wine varieties – Syrah.
For those who choose to go red, Syrah is the ideal choice because it has more antioxidants compare to its other counterparts. Similar to any wines, there are the normal Syrah who we would likely pass by once we see it and those which are great that they end up winning awards. One great example is Maison Paul Jaboulet Aîné’s Crozes Hermitage Domaine de Thalabert which earned a silver medal from Syrah du Monde®.
The Jaboulet and its Wine
Last May 2016 marked the 10th edition of the Syrah du Monde®. It is an international wine contest wherein hundreds of wine are being tasted and graded based on the strict criteria and by virtue of the following principles: quality, high standards, and diversity. One of those which are recognised is the 2013 Domaine de Thalabert.
The Jaboulet family has been producing wines of high-standard. This is born out of the combined persistent efforts of the family, and their remarkable, hardworking people, the terroir of the region, and their high regard to the art of growing, fermenting, blending, and maturing of the wines. In addition to the enduring quality standard for their craft and vision, they are in the process of applying for ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) as their commitment to sustainable winegrowing and dedication for continuous excellence.
Indeed, Paul Jaboulet Aîné is truly worthy of the Syrah du Monde® award.
