Here are some top Auction picks to start off:
Château Giscours is a winery in the Margaux appellation of the Bordeaux region of France, in the commune of Labarde. The wine produced here was classified as one of fourteen Troisièmes Crus (Third Growths) in the Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855. Château Giscours is the home ground of the Bordeaux Giscours Cricket Club, participants in the Aquitaine Division of the French National League and current National Champions.
Château Musar is the name of a Lebanese winery in Ghazir, Lebanon, north of the capital Beirut. Musar grapes grow in the Beqaa Valley, a fertile sunny valley situated east of Beirut. The red wine, which is the best known is made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, Carignan, Grenache, and Mourvèdre grapes in varying amounts each year. The whites are made from Obaideh (related to Chardonnay) and Merwah (related to Sémillon). Both wines contain classic Bordeaux grapes, however they are very different, as they are made in a natural wine style with significant bottle variation. The wines generally improve with age, both the red and whites.
Leading off the 2013s from bottle, the 2013 Grenache la Paciencia Vineyard is getting up there with some of the top Grenache releases to come out of the New World. Incredibly perfumed, with notes of herbes de Provence, flowers, dried strawberries and assorted red fruits, it’s medium to full-bodied, seamless and impeccably balanced. The buzz words here are perfume, complexity and elegance. It’s also worth noting that the Grenache vines for this wine come from the famed Rayas lieu-dit in Chateauneuf du Pape.
Very distinguished cabernet sauvignon; full-bodied, rich, layered cassis/blackcurrant; fine, supple tannins running throughout; quality oak plays a role, too. Drink 2024 An exciting vintage of Gralyn Cabernet Sauvignon. The introduction of extended skin maceration has highlighted the fantastic fruit weight and depth of flavour present in this outstanding vintage. Complexity and richness is obvious on both bouquet and palate with power, softness and finesse in perfect balance. Underlying all this is the hallmark of Gralyn Cabernet Sauvignon – beautifully structured wine with a core of intense sweet fruit.
This is from pure chalk terroir, and there are some very fine minerals at the core. it shows expansive gentle flesh and then a helping of long, sapid saline characters. The nose also has some gently toasty lemon rind and zesty grapefruit, subtle spices and lemon blossom. We are at 4 atmospheres here, and it shows as this is very strong and incredibly fresh. There are toasty moments on the palate, too, ripe tannins, ripe grapefruit and hints of peach sorbet. The wine feels relaxed and in excellent balance. It all culminates in a delicious grapefruit finish. Drink now and through to 2020+.

The estate also produces a second wine, Le Serre Nuove, the blend Le Volte, the Merlot varietal labeled wine Masseto, in addition to estate production of grappa and olive oil. In 2012, the winery's name was changed from "Tenuta dell'Ornellaia" to "Ornellaia e Masseto", in recognition of the increasing importance of the Merlot-based wine.
