Caillard Wine is a small family run wine business. Evolving from our first vintage of Mataro in 2008, we now also make a Shiraz and a Cabernet.
It was inevitable that after 37 years under various guises in the wine industry that Andrew, with his wife Bobby, should get involved in making and creating their own wine label. Caillard Wine specialises in Barossa Valley Mataro and Shiraz.
In 2008, inspired by the great experimental South Australian red wines of the 1950s and 1960s we chose to produce a single varietal Mataro (the Australian synonym for Mourvedre). It was then only natural that 5 years later, in 2012, we should also try our hand at Shiraz.
Our aim is to make wine that is delicious to drink, different and pleasing. To achieve this, we source our fruit from exceptional vineyards in the Barossa Valley.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2012 Shiraz has a lovely, expressive nose of ripe black fruits, cloves, black earth, dark chocolate and a touch of menthol. Medium to full-bodied, bright and fruity with great structure, the finish is long and very pure. Drink it now to 2022+.
